ASECNA Signs On For AireonFLOW in African Airspace

The Agency for Air Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA) has signed an agreement to deploy AireonFLOW for air traffic flow management capabilities, which will help ASECNA to extend visibility of flights outside its airspace and help predict traffic flows entering into its airspace.

ASECNA to Expand Aireon Data Usage for ATFM

The Agency for Aerial Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA) will be deepening its air traffic management capabilities using an expanded portfolio of products from Aireon, the world’s leading provider of space-based automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) services.

Aireon’s Space-Based ADS-B Surveillance to Cover All ASECNA FIRs

Following nearly two years of collaboration on terrestrial surveillance between the Agency for Aerial Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA) and Aireon, the two organizations have concluded the use of space-based ADS-B for surveillance services beginning January 1st 2020 within the six flight information regions (FIRs) of ASECNA: Antananarivo, Brazzaville, Dakar Terrestrial, Dakar Oceanic, N’djamena and Niamey.
