AireonSTREAM™ provides a stream of high-fidelity ATS surveillance data combined with flight and airspace contextual information—including infrastructure, weather, avionics, aircraft registration and schedule data—to enhance tracking, situational and analytical tools.

A robust, high-fidelity dataset is a vital component in supporting safe and efficient traffic flow management through various airspaces around the world.

AireonSTREAM is a set of APIs that enable stakeholders to access Aireon’s high-fidelity, low-latency, 100 percent coverage air traffic services (ATS) surveillance-grade data. The APIs also allow stakeholders to quickly integrate the telemetry data into other data analytics platforms, providing a single source of telemetry data and access to the full suite of derived analysis tools.

AireonSTREAM is designed to meet the needs of numerous operational use cases including aircraft tracking, airport operational analytics, situational awareness, unmanned aircraft system (UAS) traffic management, as well as safety, environmental and operational analyses.

AireonSTREAM provides world-wide gate-to-gate, surface-to-space, high-fidelity ATS surveillance data, combined with flight and airspace contextual information including infrastructure, weather, avionics, aircraft registry and schedule data to enhance tracking, situational awareness and analytical tools.

Tailored Data Streaming

AireonSTREAM allows for tailored data streaming of any aircraft tracking applications as well as a secure, surveillance-quality Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) stream. Tailored data streams leverage the contextual data and provide:

  • A single source of global telemetry data that exceeds the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Global Aeronautical Distress and Safety System (GADSS) requirements for aircraft tracking with position update intervals that are near-real time.
  • High-fidelity, low-latency surveillance data for airports, within a 50 nautical mile radius around the airport itself. This capability also allows access to contextual, event-based information regarding scheduled arrival and departure airports.
  • Customized APIs to enable stakeholders to define the fields, locations and fidelity that are necessary to meet their needs, utilizing a flexible interface for custom data streams to ensure rapid integration.

Aircraft Position Data

Aireon’s space-based ADS-B provides data for any aircraft equipped with 1090 MHz / ADS-B equipment up to a ceiling of 127,500 feet above ground level. Position reports are available for all subscribed aircraft with an update rate of 4 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute or 5 minutes, depending on the use case and desired update interval, with a universal latency of less than 30 seconds.

Aireon provides continuous, global coverage and availability over 99 percent.

Integration

AireonSTREAM utilizes high availability, low latency, industry standard protocols to ensure swift deployment to support real-time data delivery on multiple messaging exchange patterns. Specifically, AireonSTREAM utilizes Advanced Message Queueing Protocol (AMQP) through Microsoft Azure to guarantee reliable data transfer and integration without additional significant development for the customer.
