Aireon is expanding the analytics metrics on its Safety Dashboard platform, adding Time to Conflict to its valuable insights.
Time to Conflict (TTC) calculates the amount of time it takes for a potential conflict between aircraft to be detected and resolved. Using Aireon’s space-based automatic surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) data to track this new metric, ANSP safety personnel will be able to identify weaknesses in their airspaces before they become issues.
The Aireon Safety Dashboard provides powerful data insights for ANSPs to identify, monitor, and analyze key leading indicators of safety in their airspace. The dashboard provides a visual representation of each key risk indicator, making it easy to identify trends, patterns, and outliers.
TTC is the latest metric on the Safety Dashboard, joining Traffic Collision and Avoidance System (TCAS) alerts, risk of runway overruns, transponder emergency codes, and rejected takeoffs.
TTC provides powerful insights into how the airspace operates and improvements that can be made. Key insights are:
- Analysis of multiple encounters in problem areas
- Baselining current operations
- Measuring effect of airspace improvements
- A more complete view of TCAS events
