The Aireon team is back from an informative week at the 2024 Malaysia Aviation Safety Seminar (MASS) in Kuala Lumpur! We are extremely grateful to CAAM (Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia) for their kind invitation to participate in this year’s event.
The two day event was themed around “Navigating Safety for Tomorrow: Flight to Sustainability and Resilience.” This was an impressive event focused on advancing aviation safety and attracted over 500 industry leaders, government officials, and aviation professionals to discuss emerging trends and critical issues in aviation safety.
The event was officially opened by YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Malaysia’s Minister of Transport, with a keynote address focusing on Malaysia’s efforts to strengthen aviation safety, sustainability, and regulatory frameworks. A key highlight was continued by Dato’ Captain Norazman Mahmud (CEO of the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia) who emphasized the importance of cooperation, collaboration and reminding the audience that “Aviation is Personal.”
The seminar featured expert panels showcasing the latest safety technologies and experiences. Aireon was kindly invited to participate in the panel about Safety Data Collection and Processing System (SDCPS), together with Alan Foo from CAAS and Rashidi Abdul Rahim from CAAM. Our team used this opportunity to present Aireon data capabilities around safety monitoring events and particularly GPS/GNSS spoofing and jamming incidences.
This was an impressive event with quality content. It was great catching up with so many industry colleagues. Looking forward to joining next year again. Collaboration is key!
