The Aireon team has just wrapped a busy few days this week at the CANSO Global ATM Summit and AGM in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Hundreds of aviation professionals from all over the world convened in Baku for this year’s event. Many of the conference sessions during the week focused on the aviation industry’s efforts to reduce our collective environmental impact. Conference attendees heard from industry experts on the steps the industry has already taken to meet the 2050 net zero climate goal, including the role technology plays in that. “By tabling the important discussion of climate change here in Baku, we acknowledge the need for collaborative efforts across borders and industry to safeguard our planet’s ecosystems for future generations,” said Simon Hocquard, CANSO Director General.
Ahead of the main conference, Aireon, along with our customer Azeraeroavigation (AZANS), hosted a workshop addressing the use of global, reliable data to better manage air traffic flows in the region.
In case you missed it … Aireon announced two important collaborative efforts with our regional partner AZANS. First, AZANS will deploy two safety-focused Aireon products – Aireon Safety Dashboard and Aireon Locate search and rescue tool. Additionally, Aireon and AZANS signed a collaboration agreement to study the use of enhanced air traffic flow management technologies in the region.
A special thanks to our customer AZANS for their support and hospitality during the week!
