How AireonINSIGHTS Flight Events Works
AireonINSIGHTS Flight Events leverages Aireon’s global space-based ADS-B surveillance network to pinpoint key moments in an aircraft’s journey to build a flight story from takeoff to touchdown.
Once the ADS-B messages are collected into AireonINSIGHTS Flight Events, the system parses each broadcast to extract essential fields (e.g., flight identifier, timestamps, coordinates, altitude, heading, speed), then correlates individual messages to form a continuous flight profile. By linking consecutive ADS-B messages, we can identify when an aircraft takes off, enters the cruise phase, approaches its destination, and lands. Leveraging advanced algorithms, Flight Events generates timestamps and details for each of these key flight events.
Global, Gate-to-Gate Data
The ADS-B data that Aireon’s satellite network collects from equipped aircraft all over the world is known for its high-fidelity accuracy.
Secure and Confidential
Flight Events delivers secure and verifiable data, with immutable records and encrypted storage. Access to Flight Events files is strictly controlled, by assigning read privileges to intended customer users, ensuring sensitive information remains protected and confidential.
Automated Event Detection
The system correlates individual messages to form a continuous flight profile, identifying when an aircraft takes off, enters the cruise phase, approaches its destination, and lands—with key details and timestamps for these events.
Options for Delivery
Flight Events data is packaged into JSON files containing data bundles tailored to operational needs and securely uploaded to a customer-specific Azure Blob Storage account.
