Aireon to Supply its Safety Dashboard to Philippines to Support Regional Data-Sharing Initiative

MCLEAN, VA – 30 June 2025 – Aireon, the global leader in automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) data products and services, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) to collaborate on safety analytics platforms and GPS interference mitigation in support of a regional data-sharing initiative.

Under terms of the MOU, CAAP will gain access to Aireon’s Safety Dashboard platform, which provides powerful data insights for ANSPs to identify, monitor, and analyze key leading indicators of safety in their airspace, including GPS Integrity Monitoring, TCAS Resolution Advisories, Rejected Takeoffs, and Risk of Runway Overrun, among others.

CAAP was part of a group of five Asia-Pacific countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand to launch Regional Aviation Safety Data and Information Sharing Initiative, in an agreement signed at the 59th Conference of ICAO DGCA Asia Pacific in October 2024 in Philippines. In a first-of-its-kind initiative in the region, the five States agreed to collaborate and share de-identified safety data to identify safety hazards and trends and develop mitigating measures to better manage safety risks.

Through a series of workshops and other information-sharing initiatives, Aireon and CAAP will work collaboratively to highlight the benefits of the Aireon Safety Dashboard metrics to the regional partners.

“I would like to congratulate Philippines for taking a lead role in establishing a safety cooperation in the Asia Pacific. Aireon is looking forward to working together to understand and support CAAP’s operational and safety goals, and illustrating how the Aireon data can support,” said Peter Cabooter, Executive Vice President, Customer Affairs, at Aireon.

This MOU comes following CAAP’s adoption of Aireon’s space-based ADS-B data for air traffic surveillance for the Manila Flight Information Region (FIR) in December. CAAP said the adoption of the system will enhance the Philippines’ air traffic management capabilities substantially.
