SkySoft-ATM is a Swiss air traffic management (ATM) technology company specializing in software and digital solutions for air navigation service providers (ANSPs) and airport operations. Their technology specializes in creating tools for air traffic control and surveillance, and airport tower environments.
Aireon and SkySoft-ATM collaborated to bring real-time air traffic information directly to airport towers. The cloud-based solution blends Aireon’s space-based automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) data with SkySoft-ATM’s platform, giving controllers a situational display of aircraft in and around the airport or areas of interest.
Through secure, web-based access, controllers can monitor arriving aircraft and surface movements and use advanced tools such as Range and Bearing Line (RBL) to calculate aircraft distance and time in relation to the runway. The platform can also serve as a contingency system to help maintain situational awareness when primary systems are unavailable.
Combining Aireon’s global aircraft surveillance data with SkySoft-ATM’s technology gives airports and key players in ATM a flexible way to monitor and manage traffic. Additional advanced capabilities, including trajectory prediction, conflict resolution, and recording and replay, can also be added into the platform. This partnership supports a new generation of digital and distributed ATM service delivery.
